The swim portion of the event will consist of 500 yard swim in the Skyview Pool. A total of 20 lengths, or 10 laps if you prefer to count them that way! Volunteers will count laps and keep times. Swimmers will be notified when they have 1 lap remaining.

The bike portion of the event will consist of 10 miles of highway racing. The highway will NOT be closed for this event, and bikers will be required to obey all traffic laws and traffic control devices (stop signs, traffic lights, flaggers). The course begins in the parking lot of the Skyview high school and travels south on the Sterling Highway (going towards Homer). Bikers will turn right onto Echo Lake Road. A racevolunteer will be at this intersection to prevent racers from continuing on to Homer. Racers will continue on Echo Lake Road to Gaswell Road, and then on to K Beach Road. Another volunteer will be at this intersection. Bikers will remain on the right side of the roadway and continue on to the Sterling Highway. There is a traffic light at this intersection, as well as another one of our volunteers. Turn south on the Sterling Highway and return to the Skyview High School. It is the school at the top of that long hill in front of you. Return to the Skyview High School parking lot. Click here for an interactive map of the bike portion of the course.

The run portion of the event will include a 5K trail run on the Tsalteshi Trails behind Skyview High School. The trail will be well marked and our volunteers will be along its route.

EXTRA! EXTRA!

If you've never run or ridden on these trails before, Tony Oliver will be available on Saturday evening, June 9th, at 6:00 p.m. to go over the course with you. Meet him in the parking lot of Skyview High School.

This optional meeting will be especially helpful for our young triathletes, but all age triathletes are welcome. Bike riders must wear their helmets - no exceptions! Youth under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
