Course Details

IMG_6150Triathlon – you can purchase an early swim time for $25 when you register on ActiveWorks for the TriTheKenai. Early swim time assignments are based on registration date and time. The money raised is used to support our targeted charities. The swim portion of the event will consist of 750 yard swim in the Skyview Pool. A total of 30 lengths, or 15 laps if you prefer to count them that way!  Volunteers will count laps and keep times.  Swimmers will be notified when they have 1 lap remaining.

Duathlon: The Duathlon first leg run will be a mass start at the same time the first set of swimmers start and will consist of a 2 mile run on the Tsalteshi Trails (map pending).

Triathlon/Duathlon: The off-road MTB bike portion of the event will consist of 10 miles of regular and single-track mountain bike racing on the Tsalteshi Trails.  Ups and downs and all arounds – this will be a tough MTB course.   The off-road MTB bike portion is the same for both the Triathlon and Duathlon events (map pending)

Triathlon/Duathlon: The run portion of the event will consist of a 4 mile trail run on the Tsalteshi Trails. The last leg run in the same for both the triathlon and duathlon events. The trail runs will be well marked and our volunteers will be along both routes.

If you’ve never run (Youth & Adult) or ridden (Youth) on these trails before, Tony and Angie will be available on Saturday evening, June 9, at 6:00 p.m. to go over the course with you. Meet them in the parking lot of Skyview Middle School.

This optional meeting will be especially helpful for our young triathletes, but all age triathletes are welcome. Bike riders must wear their helmets – no exceptions! Youth under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
